Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy for ADHD and Autism

You might have find yourself here because…

  • You recently found out that you are on the autism spectrum or have ADHD. Suddenly, so much in life makes sense but you wonder how different life might have been if you had known sooner

  • You have spent much of your life masking your symptoms and you continue to do this because at times it feels like it works for you or it is too scary to think of engaging with the world without masking

  • You have struggled integrating your neurodiversity into your identity because you either just found out or you received treatment that focused on helping you come across neurotypical

  • You have struggled managing day to day tasks.

My Experience with Neurodiversity

From my early years of training, I noticed a trend with many of the neurodivergent people I worked with. I noticed a lot of self-blame and frustration which often led to co-occuring anxiety and depression.

I have worked with individuals who believed that they were “lazy” or “just not good at listening” when they struggle to start tasks or maintain attention.

I have worked with so many people over the years who were made fun of their whole life for being a “picky eater”, “being stubborn” or “talking about the same thing over and over again.”

All of these experiences share the same central struggle - It can be really difficult to be a neurodivergent person in a society made for neurotypical people.

My goal is to help you to find a sense of comfort in who you are and to find ways to live out your day to day life in a way that works for you.

I take a holistic approach to neurodiversity.

I believe that our best self is our most authentic self. My goal is for you to be able to integrate all aspects of yourself.

Many of the clients I work with have been diagnosed later in adolescence or adulthood and have been able to mask their symptoms up until that point.

For many, having a diagnosis to describe their experience is a relief, while for others it can feel stigmatizing. I am here to help you navigate wherever you are in your journey.

I have also found that many neurodivergent folks seek out therapy for help with navigating every day life.

If it fits for you, I can provide support for building strategies to support tasks such as time management, organization, and planning.

I can also provide support for navigating social situations, relationship stressors, and overall emotion regulation.
